This is the second of my tributes to Paul McCartney for Miss Whetsel's Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus class. I completed the first assignment during the second six-weeks. If you remember I re-wrote "Silly Love Songs," "Live and Let Die," "Yesterday," "Say Say Say,"( and in a non-Paul related song, "The Theme From Shaft") using math lyrics. This assignment was for a stained glass project using polar graphs and other assorted graphs. Well, I remembered that famous photographer Linda McCartney was working on a project that included taking some of her photographs and transforming them into stained glass. Well, not knowing what one of hers would end up looking like, I decided to do an interpretation of one of Mrs. McCartney's less famous photographs. I took this from Linda McCartney's Polaroid Diary: "for a great '98." You can find the photo in question on the week of August 3rd. But since a lot of you don't have the book, so I scanned it, and plopped it here.

Linda's McCartney's Original Photo Rough Draft Final OutcomeThe class used plexi-glass and a faux stained glass paint called "Gallery Glass." The "Liquid Lead" created the borders, the royal blue made the blue, reapplied in some places to make it look darker. Kelly green, orange, and purple filled out the rest. Where it looks white, it is actually clear. I tried to photograph it in the light, but the results were horrible, so I scanned it in, but the clear shows the white backdrop for the scanner, oh, why am I complaining? I think it came out pretty well. I made the green block too large, and probably used too much green overall. I decided to block individual colors instead of mixing new ones or having teeny-tiny blocks of color. Email Me, I want your comments. |
