Paul McCartney Nashville -- mp3s

Official versions of most songs can be found on WINGS AT THE SPEED OF SOUND (Both US and International editions {CD Only}) except where noted.

Most of these are outtakes.  If you own this copyright, please let me know--I'd love to hear from you (because if you did, you'd be Paul McCartney).   Seriously, go buy the real thing, but these are outtakes that you can't buy at a store.

Sally G

The song featured on the Interview page, about a Nashville lounge singer.  Kind of a Double A-Side single one of only a few for Wings.  Promoted heavily, by country radio, the song peaked at 17 on the country charts, while the flip-side (below) hit #1 on the Pop/Rock charts.  Remember this was the time after Band on the Run where everything Paul touched, turned to platinum.

Juniors Farm (Alternate Take 3 - With Talking)

Written about Curly "Junior" Putnam and his farm.  Read about him at the Newspaper page.   One-Half of a Double-Sided single from Wings, oh, read the stuff above.  While not found on Speed of Sound, it is found on Wings Greatest and All the Best!

Walking in the Park with Eloise

Written by Paul's father James McCartney.  Paul gussied it up a bit here. A-Side to the single credited to The Country Hams.

Bridge Over the River Suite Demo Without Horns

Not much info about this one, just that it was the B-Side to the above single.  Really great jazz sound, though.  Seriously, a kick-ass song, easily one of my favorites in Paul's vast catalogue

Send Me The Heart (Unreleased Final Version)

Send Me The Heart (Unreleased Alternate Take)

One of Denny Laine's least-inspired contribution to the Wings catalogue.  Just another crappy love-song, muddled with the country sound.  This song was never released by Wings, saving it for Denny's solo albums (of which there are many).  Fun for completists only.

Hey Diddle With Bip-Bop in Scotland

Hey Diddle Nashville Version

Bootleg only found on "Cold Cuts."  Yes, it was almost released, but Columbia, Paul's record company at the time, didn't want it.   So it found itself a home on bootleg releases.  It was recorded at his Scotland farm, but given "the country treatment" (pedal steel, fiddle and ocarina) in Nashville.  Later, "down-home" percussion was added.
